Today while waiting downtown to go to court
I went to the bombing site today for the first time, i never could bring myself to do it before it just hurt to much to remember, thank god no one i knew died but it was so close to my home i felt like i knew them all.
i walked along the fence that surrounded the site and it was covered with so many things and faces of the people that died, it really brings it home what happened here all over again.
Im going to take pictures of the memorail and the chairs that are set up representing the people that died there, if any of you would like to see them let me know it's very beautiful.
9 years ago today, Hmmm still seems like yesterday.

I remember that day very well. The bombing, and waiting and hoping that they caught the bastards that did it. If you take pics, I'd like to see them.

I was in 7th grade journalism class. Sounded like a cherry bomb went off directly downstairs or a gigantic thunder clap outside. But there were no clouds.
It took about 20 minutes to find out what happened.
My mom's cousin, I guess my cousin once removed, was the architect who designed the Federal Building.
He says he was standing in a hospital room in Presbyterian Hospital looking out the window downtown at some of the buildings he's designed. He claims he was looking pretty much right at the building when the bomb detonated.
He spent the next few weeks helping search the debris for survivors. Within the first few days of searching his brand new tennis shoes' tread was worn away by the rubble.
Personally i was never emotionally effected by it.

I'll never forget that picture of the firefighter carrying the little girl that ran on the cover of every news magazine. Broke my heart then and still does now.
